The HALEX/SCOTT FETZER 96196 is a zinc-plated steel locknut sized for 2-inch rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC). Each package contains two locknuts. Locknuts are used to secure conduit fittings and connectors to enclosures, panel boxes, and junction boxes, creating a tight mechanical connection at the knockout. The zinc plating provides corrosion resistance in standard indoor and light commercial environments. Electricians install these as part of a complete conduit termination, pairing them with connectors or bushings to meet NEC requirements for secure conduit support and grounding continuity.
These locknuts are suited for 2-inch rigid or IMC conduit runs terminating at electrical panels, pull boxes, meter enclosures, and similar metallic enclosures in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations. The two-pack format is practical for jobs requiring a small quantity without excess material. The UPC polybag packaging keeps the pair together for easy jobsite handling.
Designed for use with 2-inch rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit fittings and connectors at standard enclosure knockouts.
Installed by licensed electricians as part of a conduit termination assembly. De-energize the panel or enclosure before beginning work and follow NEC lockout/tagout procedures. Thread the locknut onto the conduit connector and tighten firmly against the enclosure wall using channel-lock pliers or a locknut wrench to ensure solid mechanical and electrical bonding. Do not over-tighten to the point of distorting the enclosure knockout.
