The HALEX/SCOTT FETZER 75402 is an anti-short bushing designed to protect conductors at the open end of armored cable (BX) and flexible metal conduit. Inserted into the cut end of the conduit or cable, the bushing forms a smooth barrier between the metal jacket edges and the wire insulation running through it. This prevents abrasion and insulation damage that can occur when conductors contact sharp cut edges. Each pack contains 5 bushings. Electricians and wire installers use these during rough-in and termination work wherever armored cable or flexible metal conduit is used. The part number designation AS2PL identifies this as a size 2 bushing in plastic construction.
Anti-short bushings are required by the NEC when terminating armored cable and flexible metal conduit. This size 2 bushing is appropriate for residential and commercial electrical installations where BX cable or flex conduit is routed to junction boxes, panels, or device enclosures. The bushing seats inside the armor end before the connector is secured, protecting insulated conductors from the cut metal edge of the jacket. Each pack of 5 provides enough quantity for a small job or service call.
Designed for use with size 2 BX armored cable and flexible metal conduit in standard residential and commercial electrical installations.
Anti-short bushings are installed by licensed electricians during conduit and armored cable terminations. De-energize all circuits before working on any cable or conduit connection. Seat the bushing fully into the open end of the armor before installing the cable connector to ensure conductors are fully protected. Work must comply with applicable NEC requirements for armored cable and flexible metal conduit terminations.
