The HALEX 27528 is a plastic insulating bushing designed to protect wires and cables at the open end of threaded conduit or a conduit connector. Rated to 105 degrees Celsius and manufactured from flame-retardant thermoplastic, this bushing creates a smooth, well-rounded bearing surface that prevents conductor insulation from chafing or cutting against sharp conduit edges. Installation of an insulating bushing at conduit terminations is a standard NEC requirement, making this a routine component in residential and commercial electrical rough-in work. Each package contains two bushings sized for 1-inch conduit.
This bushing is suited for use on threaded rigid metal conduit and conduit connectors in residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring installations. Electricians reach for this part during panel feeds, branch circuit rough-in, and service entrance work wherever NEC compliance requires a protected conduit termination. The 1-inch trade size fits standard threaded conduit fittings and connectors of the same size. The poly-bagged two-pack format is practical for service trucks and job-site tool bags where small quantities are needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit insulating bushing for 1-inch threaded conduit terminations and conduit connectors as required by the NEC.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working at any conduit termination point. Thread or press the bushing into the open end of the conduit or connector before pulling wire to avoid insulation damage. Reference the applicable NEC edition and local amendments for bushing requirements at specific conduit termination types.
