The HAIMER 88.600.30 is a BT30 retention knob engineered for secure tool holder clamping in CNC machining centers with BT-style spindles. This Style C knob features a 45-degree angle radius design and is rated for high-torque applications, making it suitable for aggressive milling and drilling operations. It includes through-coolant capability via a 0.0394-inch coolant hole diameter, allowing direct coolant delivery to the cutting zone. Key dimensions include an overall length of 1.693 inches, a knob diameter of 0.4331 inches, and an M12 x 1.75 threaded shank. Installation requires no special tooling beyond a torque wrench and is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians during tool assembly.
This retention knob is designed for use in BT30 taper spindle machining centers found in light-duty CNC milling environments, tool rooms, and production shops. The through-coolant port supports setups where directed coolant flow is required at the spindle interface. The high-torque designation makes it appropriate for operations where standard retention knobs may not maintain adequate clamping force. A pilot diameter of 0.4921 inches and a neck diameter of 0.2756 inches provide precise fitment within the tool holder draw bar assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement retention knob for BT30 taper tool holders requiring an M12 x 1.75 threaded retention knob with Style C, 45-degree angle radius geometry and through-coolant capability.
Retention knobs are installed and serviced by machinists or toolroom technicians during tool holder preparation. Always remove the tool holder from the spindle and release all draw bar tension before replacing a retention knob. Use a calibrated torque wrench and follow the tool holder manufacturer's specified torque procedure to avoid over-tightening, which can distort the holder taper. Inspect threads on both the knob and the tool holder bore for damage before assembly.
