The HAIMER 50.844.1Z.4 is a shrink-fit tool holder adapter designed for CAT50 taper spindles in CNC machining centers. It accepts tooling with a 1-inch bore diameter and provides 5.12 inches of projection from the spindle face, making it suitable for deep-reach or extended-length applications. The holder features through-coolant capability with Cool Jet and resealable bores, supporting high-pressure coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone. Balanced to 25,000 RPM, it is built for high-speed machining operations where runout and dynamic balance are critical. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup personnel work with this holder as part of standard tooling assemblies.
This holder is intended for use on CAT50-spindle CNC machining centers in both production and job-shop environments. The 2.28-inch clamping depth provides secure tool engagement during shrink-fit installation, and the 1.73-inch nose diameter is sized for compatibility with standard shrink-fit induction heating equipment. Through-coolant support makes it well-suited for applications involving deep pockets, long-reach cuts, or heat-sensitive materials where flood coolant alone is insufficient. It is packaged individually and intended for professional toolroom or shop-floor use.
Designed for use with CAT50-taper CNC machining centers equipped for shrink-fit tooling. Compatible with tooling shanks of 1-inch diameter. Through-coolant use requires a machine spindle and coolant system capable of through-spindle coolant delivery.
Shrink-fit holders require an induction heating unit rated for the nose diameter and bore size of this holder; follow the heating equipment manufacturer's temperature and dwell-time guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle and drawbar are fully de-energized and the spindle is stationary before installing or removing the holder. Use a calibrated tool-presetter or runout gauge after assembly to verify balance and concentricity before high-speed operation. Through-coolant bores should be inspected and resealed per HAIMER guidelines when changing tooling.
