The HAIMER 50.842.3/4Z.4 is a shrink-fit tool holder adapter with a CAT50 taper shank, designed for high-speed CNC machining applications. It accepts tooling with a 0.75 inch bore diameter and provides a 6.3 inch projection from the gauge line, with a 2.05 inch clamping depth for secure tool retention. The adapter includes through coolant capability with Cool Jet and resealable bores, directing cutting fluid precisely to the tool tip. Balanced to 25,000 RPM, it suits high-speed spindle work where runout and balance are critical. This holder is installed and serviced by CNC machinists, toolroom technicians, and machine tool setup specialists.
This adapter is suited for use on CAT50-spindle vertical and horizontal machining centers in production and job-shop environments. The 0.75 inch bore accommodates solid carbide end mills, drills, and other round-shank cutting tools that are thermally shrunk into the bore. The 1.3 inch nose diameter and 6.3 inch projection make it well suited for deeper-reach applications where clearance around fixtures or workpiece features is needed. Through coolant support makes it appropriate for materials and operations that demand directed high-pressure coolant delivery at the cutting edge.
Designed as an OEM-style shrink-fit adapter for machining centers equipped with a CAT50 spindle taper interface.
Shrink-fit holders require an induction heating unit to thermally expand the bore before tool insertion or removal - never attempt to press or hammer tooling into or out of the bore. Ensure the spindle and tool holder are fully cooled to ambient temperature before mounting on the machine. Verify balancing grade and RPM rating against the machine spindle specification before use at elevated speeds. Tool holder installation should be performed by qualified CNC setup technicians following the machine tool builder guidelines.
