The H R MANUFACTURING HR-469-P-A is a soft lathe chuck jaw with a tongue and groove interface, machined from 6061 aluminum. Soft jaws allow machinists and tool-and-die professionals to bore or machine the jaw face to a custom profile, providing a precise, non-marring grip on finished workpieces. This jaw measures 7.25 inches overall length and 2 inches overall width, with mount hole centers spaced 3 inches apart and a groove width of 0.5 inches. The aluminum construction keeps jaw weight low, reducing chuck imbalance at higher spindle speeds while remaining easy to rebore as needed.
This jaw is suited for use in manual and CNC lathe applications where a square jaw profile and tongue and groove mounting are required. It is compatible with chucks ranging from 15 inches to 36 inches in diameter, covering a wide range of workholding setups found in production machining shops, toolrooms, and maintenance facilities. Machinists typically install these jaws in matched sets and bore them in place on the chuck to achieve true, concentric clamping for specific part geometries.
Compatible with lathe chucks having a tongue and groove jaw interface, a chuck diameter between 15 inches and 36 inches, and a mount hole center distance of 3 inches with a 0.5-inch groove width.
Soft chuck jaws are installed and bored by a qualified machinist. Before removing or installing chuck jaws, isolate and lock out the lathe per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Jaws should be bored in a matched set while mounted on the chuck to ensure concentricity. Verify that all jaw mounting hardware is torqued evenly and that jaw movement is free and consistent before returning the chuck to service.
