The H R MANUFACTURING HR-464-P-A is a soft lathe chuck jaw with a tongue and groove interface, designed for use in metal-turning and machining operations. Machined from 6061 aluminum, this jaw mounts to a 10-inch lathe chuck and offers a square jaw shape suited for workholding setups that require custom boring or facing to fit specific part geometries. The overall length is 4-13/16 inches and the overall width is 1-1/2 inches, with mount hole centers spaced 2.12 inches apart. Machinists and tool-room technicians install these jaws when precise, job-specific gripping profiles are needed.
This jaw is intended for use on 10-inch lathe chucks in machine shop environments, both job shop and production settings. The tongue and groove interface provides a positive, repeatable seat against the chuck body. It is a standard replacement or upgrade component for setups where the original steel jaws have been replaced with softer aluminum jaws to reduce workpiece marring or to allow boring to a custom inside diameter. Installation is performed by qualified machinists on manual or CNC lathes.
Designed to fit lathe chucks with a minimum and maximum compatible chuck diameter of 10 inches using a tongue and groove jaw interface. Verify chuck jaw count and bolt pattern before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Power down and lock out the lathe before removing or installing chuck jaws. Secure all mounting bolts evenly and confirm jaw seating against the chuck body before operating the spindle. After installation, bore the soft jaws to the required inside diameter for the intended workpiece before placing the part in the chuck.
