The H.K. PORTER 0390FCS is a heavy-duty cable cutter built for cutting large-gauge copper and aluminum conductors in electrical and utility applications. The tool uses a shear-cut action to produce clean, precise cuts through conductors up to 1200 MCM copper or 750 MCM aluminum. At 32 inches overall length, it delivers the mechanical leverage needed to cut large cables without excessive effort. The oval head design keeps the cutting geometry consistent through the stroke. Cushioned rubber grips reduce hand fatigue during repetitive cuts on larger jobs.
This cable cutter is suited for licensed electricians and electrical contractors working on service entrance conductors, feeder cables, and large branch circuit wiring in both residential and commercial installations. It is also appropriate for utility crews and industrial maintenance technicians handling large copper or aluminum conductors during installation or replacement work. The 32-inch overall length makes it practical for overhead and confined-space cuts where controlled leverage is necessary.
Designed as a standard cable cutter for copper conductors up to 1200 MCM and aluminum conductors up to 750 MCM. Suitable for shear-cut applications where clean conductor ends are required.
This tool is intended for use by qualified electricians working in accordance with NEC requirements and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and verify that conductors are fully de-energized before cutting. Position the cable squarely in the jaw opening to ensure full blade contact and a clean cut. This cutter is not rated for insulated live-line work.
