The GWS 315751 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-efficiency material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to a 1-inch cutting diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius and three right-hand helical flutes, this tool delivers controlled chip evacuation and reduced edge chipping on aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. The high helix geometry and ZrN (NF1) coating reduce built-up edge and extend tool life in demanding roughing operations. With a 7-inch overall length and extended reach, it suits deep-pocket and long-reach setups where standard-length tools fall short. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals specify this end mill for CNC milling centers running non-ferrous workpieces.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations in non-ferrous metals on CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with end mill holders. The 1.25-inch length of cut and 4.375-inch reach length allow access to deep features and extended cavities without excessive overhang. Its single-end, center-cutting design permits plunge entry, ramping, and peripheral milling in the same setup. The coarse pitch flute spacing supports aggressive material removal rates while maintaining chip clearance. It is well suited to production environments machining aluminum extrusions, copper buss bar stock, and similar soft-metal components.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance is compatible with collet chucks and shrink-fit holders sized for a 1-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change protocol is complete before handling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before torquing retention hardware to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating the first cut, particularly given the extended reach of this tool.
