The GWS 314762 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from submicron carbide grade material, it delivers consistent performance in demanding cutting conditions. The 3-flute design balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality, making it well-suited for both slotting and profiling operations. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, 2 inch length of cut, and a 37-degree helix angle, this single-end tool handles a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear between uses. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
The 314762 is intended for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, which is standard for the majority of vertical milling setups. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits common collet and end mill holder configurations found in most shops. With a 4 inch overall length and no extended reach designation, this is a standard-reach tool suited for general-depth work. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips up and away from the workpiece, reducing re-cutting and heat buildup during operation. Series 2030 identifies it within the GWS end mill product family.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Inspect runout with a dial indicator after installation to confirm proper seating before cutting.
