The GWS 314732 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute geometry that balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient cutting action and reduces chatter on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this end mill delivers the rigidity and edge retention that machinists and tooling professionals require in production environments. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for general-purpose milling where coating compatibility may be a concern.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute, single-end tool is needed. The upcut flute design pulls chips upward and away from the cut zone, which helps maintain a clean cutting edge during longer runs. With a 3/8 inch shank diameter matching the cutting diameter, it seats directly in standard collets and end mill holders of that size. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in a shop or production machining environment.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill compatible with any milling machine or machining center equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
