The GWS 314705 is a single-end, square-profile carbide end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Ground from submicron-grade solid carbide, it features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter, three flutes, and a 37-degree right-hand helix. The bright, uncoated finish makes it suitable for applications where coating would add unwanted tool-to-material friction or where regrinding is anticipated. Machinists and CNC operators rely on this geometry for slotting, peripheral milling, and light plunge work in shop and production environments.
This end mill fits standard 3/8-inch collets and tool holders, making it a direct fit for vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers running 3/8-inch tooling. The 1/2-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length suit shallow-to-moderate depth passes in aluminum, brass, mild steel, and plastics. The center-cutting geometry allows limited plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. This is a Series 2030 tool from GWS intended for general-purpose production and maintenance machining.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose end mill for use in any machine tool or CNC machining center equipped with a standard 3/8-inch collet or end mill holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run.
