The GWS 314622 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and engineered material applications. Built from submicron carbide with a bright/uncoated finish, this tool delivers consistent cutting performance in right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configurations. The 37-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes. With a 1/4 inch mill diameter, 2 inch length of cut, and 4 inch overall length, it fits a wide range of vertical machining centers and CNC milling setups used by machinists and tool and die professionals.
This end mill is intended for professional machining environments where tight tolerances and consistent tool life are required. The single-end, center-cutting design allows plunge entry as well as lateral cutting, giving the operator flexibility in toolpath programming. The upcut flute geometry lifts chips away from the workpiece, helping to keep the cut zone clear and reducing recutting. It fits standard 1/4 inch collets and tool holders commonly found in both manual and CNC milling machines in job shop and production settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit solid carbide end mill for use in 1/4 inch collets and tool holders on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for collet torque and tool runout. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Verify collet condition and clean the taper and collet bore before seating the tool to prevent runout and premature tool wear. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine-specific operating procedures when setting tool length offsets.
