The GWS 314483 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard plastic workpieces. Built from submicron-grade carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required in demanding cutting environments. The 3-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality, and the 37-degree right-hand helix promotes smooth cutting action with reduced chatter. With a 1/8 inch mill diameter and 1 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight geometries. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this size when working in confined pockets or small-scale features.
This end mill fits standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills. The bright uncoated finish makes it appropriate for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern, including certain aluminum alloys and non-ferrous metals. The 2.5 inch overall length provides adequate reach without sacrificing rigidity at this diameter. It is a Series 2030 tool from GWS, intended for general-purpose to high-performance milling where submicron carbide grain structure is specified.
Designed for use in 1/8 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and conventional vertical milling machines. Fits any tool holder accepting a 1/8 inch round shank.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as runout at this diameter has a proportionally large effect on tool life and finish quality.
