The GWS 311804 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 3/4 inch cutting diameter and a 0.03 inch corner radius that protects the cutting edge and reduces stress concentrations at the workpiece. With five flutes and a variable helix geometry, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality across both roughing and finishing passes. The 2-1/4 inch length of cut and 5 inch overall length suit it to medium-depth pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled start hole.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron workpieces. The variable index geometry helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits standard end mill holders and collet chucks directly. It is appropriate for job shops, production floors, and tool rooms that machine difficult-to-cut materials and require a tool that handles both roughing stock removal and finish profiling without a tool change.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders and collet chucks. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary workpiece material is cast iron.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Consult the tool manufacturer feed-and-speed data for the specific workpiece material before programming the first pass.
