The GWS 310600 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling across a broad range of workpiece materials. Designed for single-end use in CNC machining centers and manual mills, it features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 4-1/4 inch length of cut, and four right-hand flutes with a 38-degree helix angle. The tool is finished with an AlCrO-MAX coating, which improves heat resistance and tool life in demanding cutting environments. Machined from submicron carbide grade material, this end mill delivers consistent geometry and edge integrity across extended production runs. It is suited for use by machinists and tooling professionals in metalworking shops and manufacturing facilities.
The GWS 310600 is designed for milling operations on a variety of workpiece material types, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, general steels, heat-resistant superalloys, and hardened materials, as indicated by primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 4-1/4 inch length of cut supports deep-pocket and side-wall milling applications where extended reach is a common requirement. With a 7 inch overall length and a 1 inch square shank with h6 tolerance, it is compatible with standard collet and end mill holders used in production CNC environments.
Designed for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1 inch shank diameter end mill holder or collet. Suitable for primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before commencing cutting operations to avoid premature edge wear.
