The GWS 310392 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and a 4-flute geometry with variable helix and variable index for reduced vibration and improved surface finish. The 1-5/8 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and finishing passes. Machinists and toolroom operators working on CNC machining centers rely on this tool for demanding ferrous and exotic alloy applications where edge integrity and chip control are critical.
The GWS 310392 is intended for use in CNC milling operations on machining centers and knee mills equipped with standard end mill toolholders. Its single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it a conventional choice for climb or conventional milling on production floors, job shops, and toolrooms. The 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures consistent runout in precision collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders. Primary applications include roughing and finishing passes on steel and stainless steel components, as well as superalloys and titanium workpieces where heat resistance and edge retention are essential.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary workpiece material is cast iron. Compatible with machining centers and milling machines accepting a 5/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Verify shank seating depth and runout in the toolholder before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material without consulting the manufacturer cutting data. Secure the tool to the appropriate clamping torque specification listed for the toolholder being used.
