The GWS 310210 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and 4 flutes arranged in a variable index, variable helix configuration that reduces chatter and improves surface finish across both roughing and finishing operations. With a short-length geometry and a straight cylindrical shank ground to h6 tolerance, this tool seats reliably in standard end mill toolholders. It is suited for shops and field machinists running CNC milling centers where tight tolerances and edge quality are priorities.
The 310210 is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron in production or job-shop environments. The 1/2-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-medium pocket milling, profiling, and contouring passes. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry. Secondary workpiece materials include cast iron. The submicron carbide grade provides edge retention in demanding high-heat alloys where lesser grades fail prematurely.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, S). Secondary workpiece material is cast iron (ISO code K).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC milling setup. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly when machining superalloys or titanium where tool deflection directly affects part quality.
