The GWS 310205 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining environments. The tool measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut, a 0.01 inch corner radius, and a 2 inch overall length. The 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank meets h6 tolerance for precise toolholder fitment. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, the 310205 delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for cutting steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production shop environments.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Its 4-flute, variable-helix, variable-index geometry reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, expanding operational flexibility. Primary target workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary application in cast iron. The short length type and rigid carbide substrate make it well suited for tight-tolerance work where deflection control is critical.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and cast iron on CNC vertical or horizontal machining centers.
Install and remove end mills only with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention fastener to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operating. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each use. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so ensure adequate external coolant or air-blast delivery is directed at the cutting zone.
