The GWS 122651 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in demanding metalworking applications. Built to a 3/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, it features 7 flutes arranged in a variable helix and variable index configuration that reduces harmonic vibration during cut. The 7/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length suit a compact, short-reach profile ideal for rigid setups. Submicron carbide grade construction provides the hardness and wear resistance required when cutting hard and abrasive materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in standard end mill holders for precision finish passes.
The 122651 is suited for finishing passes on steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its close pitch, 7-flute geometry produces a fine surface finish at appropriate feed rates and spindle speeds. The centercutting design allows plunge entry when needed. A straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures accurate seating and minimal runout in precision end mill holders. This tool is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers in job shop, aerospace, die-mold, and general manufacturing environments.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, and secondary workpiece material stainless steel. Compatible with material application codes P, K, S, H, and M per ISO workpiece classification.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the tool holder secured in the spindle before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify shank diameter and holder bore match to the h6 tolerance specification before tightening. Confirm correct tool length offset is entered in the CNC controller before beginning a cut to avoid overtravel or tool contact with the workpiece at incorrect depth.
