The GWS 121520 is a 5-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in a wide range of materials. With a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 1.75-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, this tool is built for demanding production environments. The variable 38-degree helix angle reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation, while the nACRo coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability. Submicron carbide grade construction adds toughness at the cutting edge. Single-end configuration with a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction. Installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill is suited for milling operations across a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including tool steels and hardened steels (P-code), cast irons (K-code), stainless steels (M-code), non-ferrous materials (N-code), heat-resistant superalloys (S-code), and high-temperature alloys (H-code). The center-cutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, expanding its range of applicable operations. Standard length type makes it a direct fit for conventional milling setups without requiring extended-reach toolholders.
Designed as a Series 1035 solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 0.5-inch collet and toolholder systems accepting an h6-tolerance shank. Suitable for milling workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per the input specification.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the toolholder and collet are clean and within specified runout tolerance before seating the shank. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are set per the material and tool diameter before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping at regular intervals and replace when performance degrades to avoid workpiece damage.
