The GWS 121518 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. With a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and four helical flutes, this tool delivers a balance of cutting stability and surface finish quality in a single-end, centercutting configuration. The variable helix and variable index geometry reduce harmonic vibration and chatter, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Overall length is 2 inches, and the straight cylindrical shank is ground to an h6 tolerance for accurate seating in end mill holders.
This end mill is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It also performs in stainless steel applications as a secondary material category. The 3/4 inch length of cut and long-length geometry provide reach into pockets, slots, and contoured features where a standard-length tool would fall short. It is sold as a single-end tool and is compatible with standard end mill holders.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Stainless steel is a rated secondary workpiece material. Series 1030.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, particularly when working with hard or abrasive materials where tool deflection can accelerate edge wear.
