The GWS 121483 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal and finishing in demanding machining applications. Built to a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius, it features five flutes with variable helix and variable index geometry to reduce harmonic vibration and improve surface finish. The overall length is 2 inches with a 0.312 inch length of cut and a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank toleranced to h6. An nACo (FX1) coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cuts. This end mill suits machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators running steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
The GWS 121483 is a short-series, single-end, centercutting tool optimized for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. The 38-degree helix promotes efficient chip evacuation in ferrous and hard-material cuts. It is intended for use in standard end mill toolholders and is compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collet or milling chuck systems. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and contouring in tool steels, hardened steels, stainless grades, nickel-based superalloys, and titanium alloys.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Secondary workpiece material is stainless steel. Part of the GWS Series 1035 product line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and locked before tool changes. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or milling chuck toolholder to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the toolholder being used. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
