The GWS 121463 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 1035 standards, it features a 0.5 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and five flutes with variable index and variable helix geometry. The variable helix design reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, improving surface finish and tool life. nACo (FX1) coating adds thermal resistance and hardness at the cutting edge, making this tool well suited for roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. Shank diameter is 0.5 inch with an h6 tolerance for precise toolholder fitment.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers handling ferrous and exotic materials. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, with stainless steel as a rated secondary material. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. It is used in aerospace, tool-and-die, and precision manufacturing where consistent dimensional results are required across both roughing and finishing operations. Compatible with standard end mill toolholders.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium, and secondary material stainless steel and hard materials. Shank diameter is 0.5 inch with h6 tolerance.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before first use, as the h6 shank tolerance is designed for close-tolerance toolholder bores. Do not exceed the rated speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material being cut.
