The GWS 121340 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal and finishing operations. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 3.04 mm (0.1200 inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life. With 5 flutes, a variable helix, and variable index geometry, the 121340 delivers improved surface finish and reduced chatter compared to standard fixed-helix tools. The nACo-style FX1 coating adds heat and wear resistance. Machining professionals and toolroom technicians use this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills for precision contouring, slotting, and profiling.
The 121340 is suited for roughing and finishing operations on steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, hard materials, and stainless steel. Its short-length geometry and 1 inch straight-cylindrical shank (h6 tolerance) make it a stable choice for high-feed applications where rigidity matters. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding versatility in 3-axis and multi-axis machining environments. This tool fits standard end mill holders and is appropriate for production shops and toolrooms working across a range of ferrous and difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials; secondary workpiece material is stainless steel. Part of GWS Series 1035.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully in a compatible end mill holder, confirming the h6 shank tolerance seats correctly to minimize runout. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and cutting condition.
