The GWS 121301 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series 1035 specifications, it features a 3/16 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and 5 flutes with a variable helix and variable index geometry. The FX1 coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity during cutting. At 2 inches overall length with a 5/8 inch length of cut, this single-end, centercutting tool handles both roughing and finishing operations. It is installed in standard end mill holders with a straight-cylindrical shank at h6 tolerance for reliable runout control.
This end mill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials in precision shop environments. The variable helix geometry reduces chatter and harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it a practical choice for mold work, die machining, aerospace components, and general-purpose profiling where tight corner geometry is required. The centercutting design allows for direct plunge entry. It is compatible with end mill holders used on vertical machining centers and CNC mills across job shop and production floor settings.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Secondary workpiece material is stainless steel.
A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should install and set this tool using a properly sized end mill holder torqued per the holder manufacturer specifications. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against published cutting data for the specific workpiece material before running. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Inspect the tool and holder for runout before initiating a cut to avoid premature edge failure.
