The GWS 120690 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.03 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip and extends tool life. With 3 right-hand helical flutes and a coarse pitch, this single-end, centercutting mill is suited for roughing passes where chip evacuation and edge strength are priorities. The uncoated submicron carbide construction delivers consistent performance in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is installed using standard end mill holders.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where non-ferrous metal stock is being profiled, slotted, or ramped. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in programming tool paths. The straight-cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance fits precisely into end mill holders, collet chucks, and hydraulic tool holders sized for 3/4 inch shanks. It is best applied in roughing operations where a small corner radius is specified to blend floor and wall transitions without sharp corners.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders accepting a 3/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Compatible with collet chucks, hydraulic holders, and shrink-fit holders sized to 3/4 inch bore diameter.
This tool is installed by a machinist or tooling technician following standard machine tool setup procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the end mill from the holder. Verify holder bore diameter and shank diameter match before applying clamping torque per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the tool shank and holder bore for chips or contamination before assembly to maintain runout within acceptable limits.
