The GWS 120650 is a 3-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered plastics. With a 3/16-inch cutting diameter and a 37-degree helix angle, this single-end tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and clean edge finishes in demanding production environments. The submicron carbide grade provides hardness and wear resistance suited for high-speed cutting applications. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose use. This tool is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC programmers working in job shops and manufacturing facilities.
This end mill is suited for light to moderate milling passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small-diameter, short-length-of-cut tool is required. The 3/16-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, allowing straightforward collet chuck mounting in standard CNC machining centers or manual knee mills. The 5/8-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. The upcut flute geometry assists in pulling chips away from the workpiece surface during climb and conventional milling.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar setups that accept a 3/16-inch straight shank via collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered off before inserting or removing the tool from the collet. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the collet holder and torque the collet nut per the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
