The GUHRING 9085110043700 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide and finished with a nano-A coating, it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in applications where standard HSS bits fail. The 140-degree VA point geometry promotes self-centering entry and reduces walking on hard alloys. With a 2-flute spiral design, right-hand cut, and web-thinned tip, this bit maintains chip evacuation efficiency at depth. Coolant-through capability supports continuous cutting in production environments. Licensed HVAC, metalworking, and industrial trades reach for this bit when tight tolerances and difficult substrate materials are the norm.
This bit is engineered primarily for titanium alloy and similarly hard exotic metals, workpiece material code M and S. The Series 8511 platform from GUHRING targets high-feed, precision drilling scenarios in aerospace, industrial maintenance, and fabrication shops. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet holders. A flute-by-diameter ratio of 5xD gives adequate flute length relative to diameter for controlled chip removal in blind or through-hole applications. Typical users include machinists and maintenance technicians working with titanium, stainless, and high-strength alloy components.
Designed for use in applications drilling titanium alloy and other high-strength exotic metals (workpiece material codes M and S). Conforms to DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L standards. Fits standard toolholders and drill chucks accepting a 6 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the shank. Activate coolant-through supply before engaging the cut to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate. Do not use this bit in hammer or impact-mode drilling equipment.
