The GUHRING 9085100062000 is a screw machine length solid carbide drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 6537 K standards with a Material Grade K40 carbide substrate, it features a 140-degree facet point and GUHRING nano-A multi-layer coating for extended tool life and heat resistance. The 6.20 mm diameter (0.2441 inch) bit has an overall length of 79.00 mm (3.11 inches) and a flute length of 34.00 mm. Coolant-through capability is standard, making it suitable for deep-hole and high-feed applications where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. This bit is intended for use by machinists and precision metalworking professionals.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting stainless steel and high-temperature alloys where standard HSS tooling falls short. The screw machine (stub) length body provides added rigidity for accurate entry and reduced deflection in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills. The 8.00 mm straight cylindrical shank (0.3150 inch) fits standard toolholders, and the web-thinned point reduces thrust load at entry. Maximum drilling depth is 24.70 mm (0.972 inch), supporting a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio appropriate for through and blind holes in tight-tolerance production environments.
Designed for use in stainless steel and high-temperature alloy applications per the Series 8510 specification. Compatible with standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks accepting an 8.00 mm shank diameter. Drill bit diameter falls within the 5.00 to 6.50 mm size range of the Series 8510 product family, and the straight cylindrical shank conforms to DIN 6537 K dimensional standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Verify that the spindle and toolholder are clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank, as excessive runout accelerates carbide fatigue. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery at the required pressure. Avoid interrupted cuts and side loading, which can fracture solid carbide tools.
