The GUHRING 9068750063500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding shop and production environments. Built to a 1/4 inch diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, this single-end tool features four flutes with a variable helix geometry and a 45-degree chamfer angle ground to a 0.002 inch chamfer width. The TiAlSiN nano-Si PVD coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance. Centercutting capability supports plunging, ramp-down, and helical interpolation entry strategies without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in ferrous and high-temp alloy applications will find this tool suited to both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials, with non-ferrous metals as secondary applications. Typical use cases include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill-milling, and plunging and recessing operations. The straight-cylindrical shank and normal pitch flute configuration make it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder setups on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills alike. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation in deep-slot or high-feed operations where external flood coolant alone may be insufficient.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. Accepts standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders with a straight-cylindrical shank interface. Shank diameter tolerance h6 and mill diameter tolerance h10 per GUHRING Series 6875 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling and reduces dimensional accuracy.
