The GUHRING 9068740063500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on Guhring's Series 6874 platform, it features a 0.25 inch mill diameter, a 0.5 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.002 inch chamfer width. The tool is coated with TiAlSiN via a PVD process using Guhring's proprietary nano-Si coating, which improves heat resistance and extends tool life in hard and abrasive materials. A variable helix geometry reduces chatter and improves surface finish. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool suited to both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills where edge chamfering, shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging operations are required. It is rated for primary use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium, with secondary capability in non-ferrous metals. The stub length profile and straight-cylindrical shank make it well suited for short-reach applications where rigidity is a priority. Micrograin carbide grade supports tight tolerances and consistent edge integrity across production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application solid carbide end mill for CNC machining operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. Mill diameter tolerance h10 and shank diameter tolerance h6 support standard ER and straight-bore collet systems accepting a 0.25 inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a fine-geometry chamfer tool.
