The GUHRING 9068720127000 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 6872 specifications, it features a 1/2-inch diameter, a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.007-inch chamfer width, and a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish. The nano-Si TiAlSiN PVD coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, making it well-suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Three right-hand helical flutes with a normal pitch support efficient chip evacuation. This tool is centercutting and carries a Weldon flat shank for positive drive retention.
This end mill is rated for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill mill operations, and plunging and recessing. Its extended reach configuration, with a 1-1/8-inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.48 inches, allows access to features requiring clearance. The 5/8-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length make it appropriate for both shallow and moderate-depth operations in production machining and toolroom work on steel alloys, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch Weldon flat toolholders. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (material codes P, M, K, S), with secondary suitability for non-ferrous metals (code N). UNSPSC Code: 27112803.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and seating specifications for Weldon flat shanks. Confirm runout at the spindle before cutting to protect the carbide substrate from edge chipping. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the selected operation type. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling.
