The GUHRING 9068720063500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the Series 6872 platform, this single-end tool features a 0.250 inch cutting diameter, a 0.500 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.0040 inch chamfer width. The three-flute, right-hand helical geometry combined with a variable helix design reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. A TiAlSiN PVD nano-Si coating delivers thermal resistance and surface hardness suited to high-feed milling in ferrous and exotic alloys. Machinists and CNC operators in job shop, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments are the primary installers.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. The extended-reach neck - 0.875 inch reach length with a 0.238 inch neck diameter - allows access to deep pockets and stepped features without tool change. The centercutting capability enables direct plunge entry. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. Non-ferrous metals are listed as a secondary material application. The straight cylindrical 0.250 inch shank fits standard ER and end mill holders with h6 shank tolerance for accurate runout.
Designed for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and non-ferrous metals. UNSPSC code 27112803.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank in a compatible end mill holder or collet chuck, ensuring adequate clamping depth to prevent pullout under load. Verify spindle and holder runout before operation, as micrograin carbide tooling is sensitive to runout-induced fracture. Coolant through is not supported on this tool; apply external flood or mist coolant directed at the cutting zone as required by the workpiece material.
