The GUHRING 9067740079400 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute helical geometry with a 48-degree helix angle. The nano-A AlTiN PVD coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in difficult-to-machine alloys. The chamfer geometry is ground to a 0.004 inch width at a 45-degree angle, producing a consistent edge break or chamfer form in a single pass. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank, making it suitable for use in standard collet chucks and end mill holders.
This end mill is suited for shops and field machinists working in aerospace, energy, and precision manufacturing environments where steel, stainless, superalloys, and titanium are primary workpiece materials. Non-ferrous metals are listed as a secondary workpiece application. The extra-long 3 inch overall length provides reach clearance in deep pockets or stepped features. Supported operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing, making it a versatile choice when a single tool must handle multiple operations in a setup.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 5/16 inch collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary application is non-ferrous metals.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe lockout state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended gauge depth and torque the collet nut or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout in solid carbide tooling accelerates chipping and premature failure.
