The GUHRING 9067740063500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It runs a 1/4 inch diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length, making it suitable for extra-long reach applications. The 48-degree high helix geometry promotes aggressive chip evacuation, while the proprietary nano-A AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection at elevated cutting speeds. Four flutes with a right-hand cutting direction deliver both roughing and finishing capability in a single tool. The 0.002 inch chamfer width at 45 degrees produces a clean, consistent corner break on finished edges. Machinists and CNC operators in precision metalworking and aerospace shops are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill is designed for operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. It performs in applications where high-performance toolpaths are run in steel and difficult-to-machine alloys such as titanium and nickel-based superalloys. The single-end, centercutting configuration allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance ensures consistent gripping in standard end mill holders and collet chucks. Secondary workpiece capability extends to non-ferrous metals, broadening its utility across mixed-material job runs.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard 1/4 inch end mill holders or collet chucks accepting a straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium; secondary capability covers non-ferrous metals.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and degrades chamfer consistency on finished parts.
