The GUHRING 9065090065000 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for demanding deep hole drilling applications. Built to Series 6509 specifications, it features a 135-degree RT100 T point with web thinning for accurate entry and reduced thrust. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under high-speed cutting conditions. At 167 mm overall length with a 127 mm flute length and a 15xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit reaches depths that standard-length tooling cannot. It is sized at 6.5 mm diameter with an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank held to h7 tolerance. Maximum drilling depth is 117.25 mm. Intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This drill bit is designed for deep hole drilling in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in aluminum and titanium alloy. The spiral flute geometry with right-hand cutting direction promotes chip evacuation in deep bores. Coolant-through construction supports internal coolant delivery, which is critical when drilling to depth in tough alloys. Typical applications include automotive components, mold and die work, and structural part machining where hole depth exceeds standard drill reach.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with straight-shank toolholders accepting an 8 mm shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. Secondary workpiece materials include aluminum and titanium alloy. Confirm machine spindle speed and feed rate against GUHRING Series 6509 cutting data before use.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling protocols. Ensure the tool holder is clean and the 8 mm shank is fully seated and clamped to the appropriate torque before initiating a cut. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in machines with excessive spindle runout or backlash. Always verify that internal coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and tooling specifications before drilling to depth.
