The GUHRING 9064840031700 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built on the Series 6484 platform, it features a 1/8 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. The tool carries an AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. A variable helix design at 38 and 40 degrees reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. The 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet toolholders. This end mill is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in precision metal removal applications.
This end mill is suited for milling high-alloy steels, tough alloys, and soft metals in both production and job-shop environments. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration with right-hand flute direction makes it a standard fit for conventional CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 1/2 inch reach length and 2.97 mm neck diameter allow access to moderately deep features while maintaining rigidity at this small diameter. Center-cutting capability allows for plunge entry as well as side milling operations.
Designed for use in standard collet toolholding systems accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Intended for CNC machining centers and manual mills running high-alloy steel, soft metal, and tough alloy workpiece materials per Series 6484 application guidelines.
This tool is installed by machinists using a collet or toolholder rated for the 3/16 inch shank diameter. Confirm collet bore size and runout tolerance before seating the tool, as small-diameter end mills are sensitive to runout-induced deflection and premature breakage. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and undamaged before clamping. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque recommendations for the collet nut and verify tool projection length against the programmed depth of cut before beginning a cycle.
