The GUHRING 9064080023800 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for high-precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, this bit delivers consistent performance in hard and abrasive materials. It features a 135-degree faceted point with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved centering at entry. Through-coolant capability channels cutting fluid directly to the cutting zone, extending tool life and supporting deep-hole drilling. The 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) diameter and 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well suited for small-diameter, high-depth work where tool rigidity and chip evacuation are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers and precision drill presses where through-coolant supply is available. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel. Secondary compatible materials include aluminum and titanium alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.00 mm shank diameter is compatible with standard collet chucks and drill holders suited to that shank size. It is part of the GUHRING Series 6408 micro drill line, which targets tight-tolerance applications in aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining environments.
Designed for use with through-coolant capable CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with collet chucks or toolholders accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and titanium alloys as specified for GUHRING Series 6408.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine control locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and correctly sized for the 4.00 mm shank before clamping. Verify through-coolant pressure and flow rate match the machine and application requirements before starting a cut. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 23.62 mm without confirming chip evacuation is adequate for the workpiece material.
