The GUHRING 9064050025000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 2.5 mm diameter, a 140-degree faceted point, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.0 mm in diameter, and through-coolant capability delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip during deep-hole drilling. Overall length is 62.0 mm with a 20.0 mm flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 16.9 mm. Right-hand spiral flutes with web thinning improve chip evacuation and reduce entry thrust. This bit is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC machining centers and drill presses.
The 9064050025000 is engineered for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials including cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and titanium alloys. The Series 6405 design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports controlled chip flow in short to medium depth holes. It is a strong fit for aerospace, automotive, and precision manufacturing operations where tight tolerances and surface finish are critical. The M7 shank diameter tolerance ensures consistent seating in standard collet and chuck systems.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle machines accepting a 4.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel (material codes K, M, P). Secondary workpiece materials include aluminum and titanium alloy (material codes N, S).
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine powered down and all rotating spindles at a full stop. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully and concentrically in the collet or chuck before tightening to manufacturer-specified clamping torque for the holder type in use. Through-coolant systems should be verified for flow and pressure before initiating the cut. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear at regular intervals, as carbide micro drills are brittle and sensitive to side loading or re-chucking misalignment.
