The GUHRING 9064010023800 is a solid carbide micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3/32 inch (2.38 mm) diameter, a 140-degree faceted point angle, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting conditions. The web-thinned geometry reduces thrust force at entry and improves chip evacuation. With a spiral flute design and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 4.00 mm in diameter, this bit is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held drilling setups. Machinists and tooling technicians working in aerospace, automotive, and precision fabrication shops are the primary users of this bit.
This micro drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel as primary workpiece materials. It also performs in aluminum and titanium alloy applications as secondary materials. The 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole profiles, with a maximum drilling depth of 18.70 mm and a flute length of 21.60 mm. The Series 6400 and 6401 designation identifies the bit within the GUHRING catalog for direct procurement and replacement ordering. Right-hand cut direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation setups.
Designed as a direct catalog replacement within the GUHRING Series 6400 and 6401 product families. Compatible with standard collet and drill chuck toolholders that accept a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and manual drilling equipment configured for right-hand cutting rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with precision drill bit handling. Inspect the collet or chuck bore for runout before seating the shank, as micro-diameter bits are sensitive to concentricity errors that accelerate breakage. Secure clamping force evenly and do not overtighten, which can deform the shank or affect runout. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop-safety guidelines when setting spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material.
