The GUHRING 9064010010000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 1 mm in diameter (0.0394 inches) with an overall length of 47 mm (1.850 inches) and a flute length of 8 mm (0.315 inches). The bit features a 140-degree faceted point angle and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. A web-thinned geometry reduces thrust force at entry, improving hole quality in hard and abrasive materials. This drill is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in precision component manufacturing.
This drill bit is intended for use in ferrous and non-ferrous metals including cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and titanium alloys. It is engineered for short, controlled drilling depths up to 6.80 mm (0.268 inches), making it well suited for precision bore work in aerospace, medical device, and general metalworking applications. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3 mm (0.118 inch) shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines.
Belongs to GUHRING Series 6400 and 6401. Designed for use with standard collet and drill chuck toolholding systems that accept a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills configured for micro-diameter drilling.
Micro drill bits at 1 mm diameter are fragile and require rigid, low-runout toolholding to prevent breakage. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before seating the bit, and confirm the chuck or collet is clean and undamaged. Use manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the specific workpiece material; excessive feed rate is the leading cause of micro-drill failure. This product does not support coolant-through delivery, so adequate flood or mist coolant at the cutting zone is recommended when drilling stainless steel or titanium alloys.
