Product Description

The GUHRING 9064000018000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built on the Series 6400 platform, it features a 1.8 mm (0.0709 inch) diameter with a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The 140-degree faceted point with web thinning and a tapered web configuration promotes accurate entry and reduces thrust force. With a 52 mm overall length and a 3.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts cleanly in standard collet chucks and drill chucks used in CNC machining centers and precision drilling equipment.

This micro drill bit is suited for production drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel (ISO material codes K, M, and P). Secondary applications cover aluminum and titanium alloys (ISO codes N and S). The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 10.80 mm spiral flute length support chip evacuation in shallow to moderate-depth holes, with a rated maximum drilling depth of 8.60 mm. It is intended for use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working in tight-tolerance production environments.

Key Features

  • Solid carbide construction from DK460UF grade material for rigidity and wear resistance in hard materials
  • TiAlN coating for thermal protection and extended tool life in steel and stainless steel applications
  • 140-degree faceted point with web thinning for reduced thrust and accurate hole entry
  • Tapered web and regular spiral flute design promote consistent chip flow
  • 3.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank for broad compatibility with standard collet and drill chuck systems
  • Diameter tolerance held to +0.002 to +0.012 mm for repeatable, close-tolerance hole sizing

Compatibility

Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision drilling fixtures accepting a 3.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suited for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and titanium alloys as noted in the product specifications.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Secure the shank to the specified collet or chuck torque per the machine tool manufacturer guidelines before operation. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 8.60 mm without re-evaluating chip evacuation strategy. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; ensure adequate external coolant or lubrication is applied for the workpiece material being drilled.
