The GUHRING 9057460097000 is a taper length drill bit from the Series 5746 line, engineered for demanding drilling applications in difficult-to-machine materials. Built from K40-grade solid carbide and finished with a nano-A coating, this bit delivers superior wear resistance and thermal stability under high-load conditions. It measures 9.7 mm in diameter (0.3819 inches) with a 140-degree split point (SU type) and a web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust force at entry. The 95 mm flute length and 139 mm overall length put it in taper length territory, and the straight cylindrical shank at 10 mm diameter allows mounting in standard toolholders. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed production environments. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This drill bit is designed for cutting stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium alloys — material groups known for work hardening and heat generation at the cutting edge. The 7xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry promote consistent chip evacuation in deep-hole applications in these tough materials. A right-hand cutting direction and straight shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems across CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools used in aerospace, medical device, and industrial manufacturing environments.
Designed for use in stainless steel, nickel alloy, and titanium alloy workpieces. Compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks, ER collet systems, and hydraulic toolholders accepting a 10 mm shank diameter across CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and in a locked-out state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm the toolholder bore and runout before seating the shank to maintain the m7 diameter tolerance and prevent premature tool failure. When using coolant-through capability, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder are configured to deliver internal coolant at the appropriate pressure for the material being drilled. Inspect cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, particularly when working with work-hardening alloys.
