The GUHRING 9055250067500 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Part of the Series 5525 lineup, it features a 0.2656-inch diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a FIREX coating designed to extend tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The through-coolant capability supports deep-hole drilling applications where heat buildup and chip evacuation are primary concerns. Two spiral flutes with a regular spiral type and web-thinned, tapered web configuration promote clean cutting and self-centering at entry. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metal fabrication and job shop environments are the primary installers of this bit.
This drill bit is designed for primary use in cast iron and steel workpieces, with secondary application suitability in aluminum and titanium alloys. The extra length design, with a 108.00 mm flute length and 146.00 mm overall length, supports drilling depths up to 94.50 mm, making it appropriate for through-hole and deep blind-hole operations on machining centers and CNC drill presses. The 12xD flute-by-diameter ratio classifies it as a deep-drilling geometry. It conforms to DIN 6537 standards and is subject to California Proposition 65 requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide drill for CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting straight-cylindrical shank tooling with an 8.00 mm shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel; secondary workpiece materials include aluminum and titanium alloys per material codes K, P, H, M, N, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Confirm the spindle or collet chuck is rated for the 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank before seating the tool. Disengage all machine power and engage axis locks before tool changes. Verify coolant-through supply pressure is within the machine tool specification before drilling to depth, and do not run this bit dry in steel or cast iron as heat buildup will degrade the FIREX coating and shorten tool life.
