The GUHRING 9055230111100 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for demanding metal drilling applications in professional shop and field environments. Built to DIN 338 standards, this Series 5523 bit features a 118-degree four-facet split point that reduces walking and improves hole entry accuracy. The M35 cobalt steel construction provides elevated heat resistance over standard high-speed steel, making it well suited for harder and more abrasive materials. The bright uncoated finish is left bare to allow visual wear inspection. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance tradespeople install this bit in standard drill chucks, drill presses, and CNC machines.
This bit is sized at 7/16 inch diameter with a matching straight-cylindrical shank of the same diameter, allowing direct chuck mounting without adapters. It is primarily intended for drilling aluminum and similar non-ferrous and ferrous materials classified under material codes K, M, N, and P. The regular spiral flute configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation over the 94 mm flute length. With a maximum drilling depth of approximately 3.045 inches, it handles typical jobber-depth through-hole work in plate, structural stock, and fabricated assemblies. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied at the surface when drilling harder stock.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement drill bit conforming to DIN 338, compatible with any standard drill chuck or machine spindle accepting a 7/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers.
Install and tighten the shank fully into a properly rated drill chuck before operation. Power down and de-energize the drill or machine before changing bits. Verify chuck jaws are clean and undamaged to ensure concentric seating and prevent runout. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or coolant at the workpiece surface when drilling ferrous or hard materials to extend edge life; no through-tool coolant is available on this bit.
