The GUHRING 9055190048000 is a cobalt steel jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 12 (0.1890 inches diameter) and built to DIN 338 standards. It features a 118-degree, 4-facet point with web thinning for accurate self-centering and reduced thrust on entry. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive materials. At 3.3858 inches overall length with a 2.0472-inch regular spiral flute, this bit delivers efficient chip evacuation in a compact jobber-length profile. It is sized at M35 material grade cobalt, making it well suited for demanding drilling operations where high-speed steel would wear prematurely. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators rely on this series for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This drill bit is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces in both production and maintenance environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks on benchtop drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills. The regular spiral flute geometry and tapered web configuration make it appropriate for general-purpose through-hole drilling in sheet metal, structural steel, and medium-hardness castings. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 1.7640 inches (44.80 mm), placing it within typical through-hole applications for material thicknesses common in fabrication and mechanical repair work.
Designed for drilling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and P. Fits any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1890-inch (4.8 mm) straight shank.
This bit is installed and removed by a qualified machinist or technician using a standard keyless or keyed drill chuck. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel or hardened cast iron to prevent premature coating wear. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 1.7640 inches per pass without retracting to clear chips.
