The GUHRING 9055190036600 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size No. 27 (0.1440 inches decimal equivalent), designed for demanding metal drilling applications where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. Built to DIN 338 standards and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), this bit runs cooler and lasts longer than uncoated alternatives. The four-facet split point geometry reduces walking at entry and lowers thrust force. Overall length is 70 mm with a 39 mm flute length, a 3.66 mm straight-cylindrical shank, and a two-flute regular spiral. Installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool-room professionals who need consistent hole quality in hard or abrasive materials.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron — corresponding to ISO material groups K, M, N, and P. The TiN coating extends tool life in production environments and job-shop settings alike. The 118-degree split point angle makes it effective for hand-drill use as well as drill-press and CNC operations. Maximum drilling depth is 33.51 mm (1.319 inches). The M35 cobalt material grade (8 percent cobalt content) gives the bit heat resistance for interrupted cuts and harder alloys without requiring through-coolant, as coolant-through is not applicable on this model.
Designed as a DIN 338-standard jobber-length drill bit suitable for use in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers equipped with chucks that accept a 3.66 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials classified under ISO codes K, M, N, and P, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron.
Installation requires a drill chuck with a minimum capacity to accept a 3.66 mm shank; verify chuck runout before use to preserve hole-diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.018 mm. Power down the machine and release all stored energy before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or mist coolant for ferrous materials to manage heat, even though this bit does not require through-coolant supply. Follow applicable OSHA machine-guarding standards and shop-specific tool-change procedures.
