The GUHRING 9055180135000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Built to DIN 6537 L standards, it features a 130-degree proprietary point with web thinning for self-centering entry without a pilot hole. The three-flute, regular spiral geometry improves chip evacuation and supports faster feed rates compared to standard two-flute designs. At 13.50 mm in diameter with a 124.00 mm overall length and a 77.00 mm flute length, this drill suits production and maintenance environments where precision and tool life are priorities. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This drill is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production turning applications where consistent hole quality in cast iron and non-ferrous workpieces is required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth holes up to 56.75 mm. The straight cylindrical shank at 14 mm diameter conforms to DIN 6535 for secure chuck or collet retention. The bright uncoated finish makes it well-suited for applications where lubricity coatings could interact with workpiece material or cutting fluid chemistry.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses with toolholders or collets accepting a 14 mm straight cylindrical shank per DIN 6535. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and aluminum or other non-ferrous metals, per the manufacturer specification for this series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the drill. Confirm shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before production use. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or intermittent cutting conditions without appropriate feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material.
